Unhappy I need help with my TL

Today the weirdest and scariest thing happened to me in the tl. I was merging onto the highway and floored it til about 85 and the car went nuts. The tach went all the way over to 8 past redline and the car basically was ready to shut down. It felt like if you were driving it in ss and you miss and go past redline... The car started to shake and then slowly was ready to go slower with my foot on the gas . I guess my ? is has this happened to anyone before ? and was the reason it went nuts because I gave it too much gas before I should have? It was a scary a$$ feeling.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the tranny slipped hard core and the computer didn't react fast enough to stop the RPM's. Then again, I know squat about how the car works.

Maybe your PGM-FI or ECU got haywire?

For a car to jump to the redline probably means possible tranny problems. You should have it checked out before any serious damage occurs, if it already hans't.
