I got stuck in a self serve touchless car wash cleaning my S!
Cliffs notes: It's fvckin cold in Canada today.
Ever go to one of these? For 6 bucks, the thing cleans your car top to bottom, when you pay the garage door opens up, and when its done you go out the other side.
Only when it was done the fvckin door didn't open.
So I'm stuck in there, afraid to get out because it's -20 degrees and I was afraid of getting drenched.
I never got out in the middle of a car wash before. It's pretty cool. I looked around for the manual door opener, found it and pressed. Just heard a long hiss.
The door was frozen to the ground! So I take a look at the electronic schematic thing on the wall. Press the button that is supposed to turn on one of the hoses, and hot water comes shooting out all over the place (not on me, I stood away from it)
I aimed it at the door, direct hit the bottom part and after like 5 minutes of that the door opened up.
This happened at the self serve car wash south of Wilson on Bathurst St. in Toronto. I recommend you stay away.

Although I don't know how hot it is- the hot water coming out of the car wash doesn't freeze, and I'm assuming pee is pretty warm...

Yup, I moved to Toronto about three months ago.
As for the guy who asked me why I wanted to wash my car in this weather in the first place, I get great joy going to the garage and seeing my car looking like the day I bought it.
If it takes 6 bucks to do that, and the alternative is seeing the lower half practically white from the kick back of salt that I have all over, then why the hell not? The place I go (went!) to is under 5 minutes from my condo.

LOL! I use that wash all the time! Actually - that is the location I use all winter until it's warm enough for me to wash it on my own. There's another coin-wash up north, but I don't use that one as often simply because it doesn't have an automatic dryer unit to dry the car on cold days. I know exactly which one you're talking about though.....no problems for me as of yet.
BTW, there's usually one or two guys working there during the day in case you run into any probs... but you did quite the job of figuring out how to get out of there yourself! hahahaha

By the way, if you know anyone that wants to take over my lease for the next 10 months (until Dec 1 2005) email me at Leasemyacura@hotmail.com
It's got Ontario plates on it and I moved to Miami. Willing to consider any reasonable offers.
