I`m sold!

I`ve owned my car for a year and a Half. Waxed it every 30 days, I thought I was on top of it. UnTill I drove into a detailer shop! He showed me the LIGHT! He said, rub your hand across the hood, and then the windows. Even though That morning I used detailing mist, and it looked good. It felt like fine sandpaper. He said, as much work as I was investing in the car, waxing and detailing, I wasn`t doing it right! He then introduced me to a Clay Bar, ( I know, I`ve read about it before, I truly didn`t know)! But I`m sold on it now. He did the windows and the paint and the bumbers. It`s so smooth just like it was when I first bought it! He put some liquid wax and sealen with Teflon in it, said not to wax it for 3 months. Then the real enlightment came, He charged the hell out of me, 100$. For two hours worth of work!

Where the h=ll di you go for only $100? Did he wash it, too? It takes me 3 hours just to normally wash and give a half-a$$ wax to my car, and I've never used the clay bar and really need to.

second enlightenment ...

If you haven't read this before ...

Once you've clayed your car ... then put on some Zaino ... that's when you'll receive your second enlightenment. I'll never go back to Meguair's or other waxes/polishes. My car literally "glows" in the evening. See what others say about Zaino products.

I did it prior, washed and Detailed mist(Zymol Wax enhancer). He took it and clayed and applied some wax with teflon in it.

$100 for the claybar and Teflon still might be worth a drive....

When you rub your hands over your paint and it feels gritty that's when you need to use the clay bar(read instructions carefully). Walmart sells the CLAYMAGIC kit that contains one bar and the spray(just soapy water?). First wash then polish car. Polish takes off old wax. Then use claybar per intructions, wash car again then wax. Personally I use Pinnacle wax, the same wax that some use on the show car circuit. Wax once, let it set overnight then wax again in the morning. Pinnacle wax is truley amazing! I've never used, much less heard of Zaino but whatever works for you is good.

Bear2Day, $100.00 sounds like a fair price for the labor/materials involved. I detail some cars and charge substantially more for my weekend detailing( one car per weekend)!

Teflon Hey did he top off your blinker fluid too.

Teflon is such a joke. There is no such thing as teflon in car waxes/polishes. In order for teflon to become a liquid, it has to be heated to some ridiculous temperature. Once it cools, it goes back to a solid.

So please tell me how he was able to apply a liquid wax containing teflon if he was not setting your car ablaze.

I got a WDP and do you think the Zaino woudl actually make my car glow? Cuz I know with WHITE its hard to achieve that effect, much easier with darker colors.

Zaino probably won't as well with WDP than say ... NBP (I have EBP). It works on my bro's brilliant silver C32 AMG. I don't know if you wanna part with $30 (Z1 & Z2 of Zaino) to see if it'll work on WDP. From what others have said, Klasse or Zymol do a good job with white.

Any other insights?
