Looks hot...You must really love blue. Not feelin the black trim around the car. I hate that about some bmw models.

Nice ride. So what are the pros and cons of your BMW when compared to your TL-S?

Dont paint the trim, Hyde. The black bumber flares are hot. It wouldn't be a BMW without it.

Congrats dude, it looks real good. It looks JUST like my buddies M5, i really like what they did with the '03 540 before they disco'd it. Only a few small differences between the 540 and the M5, i can hardly tell the difference till im on top of them. The valance in the rear is color coded to the car on the M5, and the air dam on the front bumper does not have the extra trim piece on the M5... 540 has single exhaust and 5 series mirrors... That and the wheels and badges...

Very good choice dude, i always said my next car after the TL is a 540.

Enjoy the ride dude and congrats again!!!!

I don't speak much on these forums, but I have to chime in on this one. Excellent choice I plan on my next car being a 540 or an M5 whichever my pockets can afford at that time. Also the trim looks fine like it is don't paint it. Like LITypeS mentioned please give us some TL vs 540 comparative feedback when you get a chance.
Have fun with your sweet new toy!!

Nice.

In terms of cosmetics, I prefer your old one... but we're comparing a stock BMW to your good taste :-)

Yeah but even Dinan stage 1 is expensive... Stage 3 is $35,000 :wow: but its faster than an M5 when your done...

Speaking of which, Hyde, why didnt you pick up a '01 or '02 M5? About the same price by the end... or do you not like to pick up used cars???

Thanx guys; shes actually an A/T. I was looking for a stick, but this car was right there, in great shape, and I fell in love with it. The color similarity made it just seem like fate.

Its a 2003 540i with 17k on the clock. Came with the Sports, and M package.(bumpers, door sills, steering wheel, etc).It has all the options except for the Park Distance Control, and Navi. I love the M5 front and rear bumpers, and on a dark color like this, I am going to leave the moldings black.

I have a few mods already lined up for it. Hamann front Splitters, an M5 rear spoiler. A remus exhaust, and possibley an AC Schnitzer rear roof spoiler may be on in the near future. Power mods may come later, but the prices for the car are insane. People complained about $300 for an Icebox, or $1000 for headers. Those are bargains compared to $825+ for a GruppeM intake or $3000 for Sprint headers.

About the V8; well 324 lb-ft of torque really gets this car up to speed quick, and it just pulls, and pulls at all speeds, even up high where the TL just ran out of juice. right off the line, it sends your stomach up into throat, although its soo quiet, and comfortable, you wouldnt know how fast you were accelerating otherwise.

This car is definitely a nice step up from the TL, but it should be for the price differential. Its definitely much more solid feeling, which you can tell just by closing the door. It handles great out of the box, and the quality, fit and finish of the interior, leather, etc, are a very nice step up. The options and features are pretty nice as well.

Its a nice ride which will hopefully serve me well for years to come. One of the biggest perks was that the the Sales & Service Departments leave Acura in the dust. They are no where even close.
