How many 03 A-Spec owners with tranny failure?

Just curious as to how many A-specs with original tranny and problem free.
Looking to buy one.

the aspec is a kit of parts, they are not different transmissions to my knowledge

You need to check the VIN and see if car is covered by the special extended 7 year 9 month/109,000 miles warranty,, mid 03 is a cutoff point- and can be difficult freebie or $1000 partial you pay when the trans goes out- its 4 g's for the trans job!

Nationwide, the numbers are low on failure for all the cars sold- here is seems like a lot because we are a problems area

Your best bet is find one with a replaced trans- done after mid 2005- they got a better case then, and get an extended warranty
the ones that acura sells CPO get an extra warranty so thats worth it

If acura is nice--- it will still cost A GRAND to replace trans later- and thats what a warranty cost...and covers other things likely to wear out or fail

Check the Off Topic link at top of these pages- then scroll down to Member Cars For Sale
good rides found there
Never buy a car you love instantly- let a private shop check it out for brakes $500+
suspension leaks, damage- abuse- control arm bushings-cv joints.....

buying a car off a lot without a check over is suicide, and private sales are nearly as bad
Always spend the cash to get it checked out - it will save you thousands

Any car you like- get the VIN and call acura 1-800-382-2238 x5
tell them looking to buy and want warranty history- recall check- all done?, and any past warranty repairs they can tell you about
Some 03 had a timing belt pulley recall- if so and its not done yet- spend a few dollars more and have the water pump replaced- just saved you hundreds on the 100k service!
