How the HELL do you get this GLUE off!?

I went ahead and debadged the "3.2 TL" off my car -well actaully, it was coming off- and there is still the glue stuck on the back of the trunk. I tried some Goo Gone but I didn't know how to scrub it off without scratching the car. What should I do???

Either a product called Goof Off or lighter fluid will do it. Just be sue to wax it heavily after you do, these products will remove all wax that's on there.

Goof Off or Goo Gone. Sold at Wal-Mart or Home Depot. Thats what I used. Be sure to wash the surface after you use it. You mightwant some wax too.

keep going with the goo gone soaking it repeatedly then just use your finger nail to scrub off the rest of the glue. it will work, a ton of members and i have used goo gone and can vouch. put a towl under the trunk lid so it doesnt drip off all over the place.

Get a blow dryer and heat the remaining glue up for about 30 seconds..then simply rub your fingers across the glue and it should come off.

Dont use that stuff, just rub it with the palm of your hand until it all comes off. It took me about 1 hr to remove the A C U R A emblem.

I agree that you should try this, or the hand removal method first rather than using chemicals that might weaken or damage the clear coat in the area. Go with hand to hand combat first, rather than going directly to nuclear weapons.

I used Goof Off to take the Acura and 3.2 TL badges off of my car. After doing it I noticed that the outlines of everything were still showing. So I kept going at it, I felt the lines and they were actually engraved. So I think that they are below the clear coat. Any ideas?

Its double sided tape. I use a rubber wheel on a drill. The rubber wheel I bought from Snap-on/ Matco/ for about $6.00. use it on the end of a drill motor and it'll take about minute and half, and it's safe for all paints...IF USED CORRECTLY!.. Got one here if your ever in central FL. stop by!!!! Yea I know......Jeff

I did mine in the summer when it was 90 degrees out, it came right off with my finger rubbing on it. I think the hairdryer would definitely work well, that would definitely soften the tape.

a lil bit of diluted paint thinner would do the trick...
and give it a lil wax afterwards

A little WD40 also does the trick.
