I know some people get sponsorships (like ron w/ wings west) .. do u have to do anything in particulr, does your car have to meet some requirement?.. cause it would be really sweet to get sponsored by comptech and Jackson racing ... seriously tho .. what does one have to do to get it and what kinds of responsibilities does it carry ? (aside from giant stickers )

Check out Jackson Racing's web site. I think they have a set of guidelines to assist people in getting sponsorship.

Giant stickers? Yuck.
One more downside... you'll have little ownership of YOUR car. It sucks when you can't drive your own car at your own will. (Like when your car is being worked on *constantly* and also when it is in the shows.)
