How to BEAT A STUPID SPEEDING TICKET

Ok Now that we have your attention

Seatbelts save Lives
Driving School Saves Airbags

For everyone who is in the under 35 crowd in the group, keep the speeds down on the public roads. Manslaughter is an ugly thing to be charged with when you kill someone in an accident. Those of us over 35 have done the crazy things already and have mostly mellowed.

Please check the Acuzine Meets section for High Performance Driving Schools in your area. Most racetracks are rented during the week by car clubs who are happy to let you join in their fun.

scca.org will get you to a list of tracks in your area

Near Sacramento Ca, we have Thunderhill Raceway, a 3 mile road race course that offers one day training -in your own car with a race driver riding with you- for only $225

That is far cheaper than any ticket and raise in your insurance.

On the track, you will learn what FAST really means, and more about your car and yourself than you can imagine. You may even discover the speed limiter

Please keep racing off the street and on the track where it is supposed to be

I forgot to mention something about the Driver Instructors at Thuderhill. Some of them happen to be in law enforcement.

Since the cars run at different speeds, you may find yourself approaching traffic on the straightaway or entering a corner where you have a major speed advantage and resultant closure rate.

This means you get the chance to come up on a cop going 70
You at over 100 mph
and he just waves you past them!

What fun!!!! I try to get one AS an instructor for a session on course.

A good friend of mine, who also happends to be on the forum, is Vietnamese and even he has the sense to not flip his Acura badge upside down on a Japanese car constructed in Maryville, Ohio.

I'd love to go to Thunderhill someday. Unfortunately I don't have an extra $225 sitting around.

Repping your race does not means to disgrade the other race (Japanese). Please learn to listen/read first before talk/post.

Years ago, someone mention about organize Acurazine group driving class in Laguna Seca with discount price. Maybe we should organize one!

Are you Vietnamese or an American with Vietnamese heritage?

That isn't the point.

Why do you have to blatantly disregard a good message with a "no". There is too much street racing and reckless driving as is. I think 01tl4tl supplied us with some information that is helpful and constructive. A "thanks" would have been much more appropriate.

Dont have cash now? then save each week a little. What would you do if you got a $200 ticket?

Mr Moderator:
The purpose of my post was to remind people in a light-hearted way, that lead foot driving is not the same as driving skill. Any idiot can push a gas peddle, it takes skill to drive a car at the limit under braking and cornering and stay in control...something that should ONLY be done at the racetrack. Have I gone fast, of course. How do I keep it down now?, simple

Always remember and think before you do

If you can't afford the ticket, dont do the speed time

While in Australia I observed freeway billboards with pic of 2 speedometers 100KPH (the posted speed) and 120KPH thats 62 and 74 Miles Per Hour the words said
You are going $281

I never sped in that country!

As much as I like testing my car's limits, I agree that aggressive driving in the streets is very dangerous. I've never been to a race track Maybe should look it up here.

You need to check with the local car clubs and scca events. They rent tracks out and offer events they for far less and some will actually sit an instructer with you for a few laps.

Thanks to everyone for wanting to go to track day driving schools.
I will post more info about those in the Acuzine Meets area

Look up scca.org and type in your zip code for a list of tracks and internet links to various car clubs that use the track.
Also check nasaracing.com, another organization that offers days.
Anyone near Sacramento-hey its right off I-5-make the drive, check thunderhill.com. There is one day open in November and one in December.

Since I did trick readers with this threads title, I will post good info on the legal wranglings you can use in court. The only way to win is on a technicality! Or have 15 years of spotless record and ask for a dismissal.

Full track day details at thunderhill.com click on driving school
Schedule includes 1.5 hours of classroom-split into sections and 5 count em 5 on track sessions of 30 minutes EACH.
Thats about all the learning you can do at speed before sitting down in classroom for debriefing and more lessons to practice in the next on track session.
As you demonstrate skills, you can advance to faster run group, keep an instuctor in car or play lead and follow.

Its an action packed day, if coming from the Bay Area stay the night before in Willows.
A 2 hour drive and then full day racing errrrr driver training, not smart.
Arrive rested and ready!

All SKILLS learned may be applied to normal street driving and will make you a MUCH better driver.
