Horrible ride w/ Comptech sways. Suggestions?
Hi
I bought Comptech sways and a strut tower bar (Neuspeed) a couple of months ago. Ever since sways were installed, car's handling improved but right quality is absolutely awful. My rear axle is acting extremely different from the front. It is a lot harder going over bumps and there is MAJOR bouncing going on after driving over a stretch of highway that is not perfectly flat. I really cannot describe how horrible the whole after hop is, I am now actually dreading driving the car.
The way our Infiniti behaves over the same stretch of road is totally different, bump absorption is better and after hop is non existent.
Any suggestions would be appreciated (I've tried different air pressure in tires - doesn't work). Does anybody sell rubber bushing that would fit rear Comptech sway? I could use a rotary tool and make factory rubber bushings fit the new bar, but if I ever want to put my stock sway back on, I'd be SOL.
Any of you that had a chance to experience the car w/ and without new springs: will new springs and shocks eliminate this hop and lousy drive?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

After I installed my Comptech sways I found the ride quality detiorated ever so slightly .... not to the extent you describe. Installing the sways shouldn't affect your ride quality significantly. Lower profiles yes, springs/struts yes ... but sways, not as far as i'm aware.
What Infiniti do you drive?

Infiniti is G20, not something that is greatly comfortable, but it rides a lot better. rear Comptech sway is a lot stiffer than stock and it uses hard(er) bushings, so I expected my ride to deteriorate a bit. But what I am experiencing is ridiculous.

All I can suggest is to bring your car to the dealer and have them check it out. I also had the sways and upper strut and I did not have any of the symptoms you have described. Good luck!

Have sways and springs, but not that problem.
Something else must have happened during install...

Everything except for the sways is stock. Sways were installed by a mechanic and what could really go wrong there? 6 screws out, 6 screws in...
I can't really take it to the dealer b/c they will not touch any aftermarket products and didn't want to install my sways for me either. I'm afraid they'll just blame it on the sways.
I may put my stock rear sway on and run w/ it for a while.
This car always had an after hop, now it's even more pronounced.
