Be honest, any TL owners regret buying this car?

I'm still thinkin about a TLS w/ navi but a
fully loaded new maxima looks good,
the upcoming G35 looks good,
a moderately loaded 325 looks good,
even a IS300 entices me.

Not me! My only down check on the car is that my hair rubs the roof. The value for th money is unbeatable I think. leather, sunroof, HID, CD, auto climate, high HP, etc...

There are other cars that are better, which are more pricier...But if you are looking for cars w/in the same price range...Go for the TLS, by far ahead of its league...Shyne

It doesn't matter which car you're going to get. There's always something one car has better that other cars don't. You will always have that feeling of Uh....why didn't i get that other car... I think the real enjoyment you will get out of what ever car you choose to buy is when you begin to add mods to it.

Did i regret buying this car?
NO! Because i got a DVD navi system where as other cars in the same price range do not have.

Good luck on choosing your new car and w/c to this acura-tl.com Newbie!

I don't regret buying this car at all... I'd still make the same decision even if the clock's turned back! If in any case that I'm "told" to change, I wouldn't pick anything at the same class. Perhaps at a BMW 330 or MB 320.

I have no regrets. I love my TL-S...like red Hot TL said there is no manual, which would have been nice, but the SS is defintiely suffices.

I love My TL, i really have no complaints. My dealer has been great to me and deals with me in a great way. I never regret buying this car, but i'm also 20 so my next car will be a sports car. I have to live my boy hood fantasies before i start my family.

yes i do regret buying my car.

within the next few months the 30k car market has gotten real competitive, which will benifit us as the consumer. We have more options and bargaining power now. ex. altima, maxima, g35, i35, tl, GS300, etc....

if i had to do it over again,,,,G35 all the way!!! car kicks ass!!!

Oh well... buying a car is like buying a PC. You gotta bite when the price is right, and then grit your teeth as newer stuff come out months after you do. There's no stopping competition!

or technology...:p Computer stuff becomes outdated a month after it comes out! Obsolete in 6 months....and it becomes an antique after a year!

The only thing I would regret about the car is the high HID theft rate. Other than that this car is awesome!!!

Right after I purchased INSPIRE rear sunshade, I kind a regreted because Infiniti I35 has powered rear sunshade as standard. On top of that, I35 has better looking NAV system(hiding on top of the dash) and Auto Roll Up Window on the front door.
But it's kind a expensive than TL though...

Things I regret buying.

1) My Accord.
2) All the parts I got from the dealer rather than from ACP.

I love my car also. The only thing I complain about is the seat. Somethings missin, I just can't get totally comfortable in it, and I'm a short guy. I sat in a TLS and the seats seemed more comfortable. My 01 just hit 25k miles today and she also 1 year old.

I'm SO GLAD NOT ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE TRANNY.

That is still a big issue for me.
I think if I turn away from the TLS its because
of the tranny issues. No question.

I don't regret buying this car not a bit.
I have had it for 2yrs & its been a joy when I got mine the choice was BMW 328 SEDAN or Lincoln LS V6. This would have been the price range. Other cars could not compete with the value for the money. This car came well loaded with features standard. The BMW was way to small & did not come with many features standard. The V6 Lincoln did not have featues like the options like the NAV & did not have the punch as the TL. The HID was also a huge factor also& sice I have had other new HONDA car why not get another.

FTM-1: Shame on you for even considering a Lincoln! I dismissed BMW 3 and the MB C series cause they were outrageously expensive when comparably equipped. And the Lincoln--well, it's a Lincoln!

No regrets here whatsoever. I like it better every day. Its also nice to see a thread without a lot of complaints on their car. That said if my tranny went bad, I would be bitter.

Dave you are so correct about this & this is why I did not get a Lincoln. I have been a HONDA owner for 21yrs the LINCOLN was just a car to compare. I had been looking at the TL concept car picture & info before they redesigned the 99 model. When the 99 finally came into the dealerships I was one of the 1st to test drive one. I did have all the info from ACURA but got a 2000 model in late 1999.

What liutang said, getting it w/o NAVI. Tl-S wasn't avail. in Feb. of '00, but I love this car more & more. I changed the tires, which help ALOT! TL-S in the near future???????

To tell you guys the truth, I did feel a little regret... especially how little problems pop up, and the willingness(or should I say, unwillingness, if there is such a word) of service department when dealing all the problems(Sales were great though, I might add).... and my 10 year old S-Class feels much tighter than TLS, structure-wise..... though the performance makes me forget all the drawbacks... if I get to choose again.... sorry, nothing but Europeans.... A fully loaded C-Class Coupe is about the same as TLS... sure it's not as fast as TLS, but it has better safety features, tighter chassis/body, and of course, I can always trust the service at my MB Dealer since ALL the service advisors are my personal friends, plus couple friends as sales and Sales/Service Managers....

YES I DO!!!

the quality on my car is really just OKAY!!! I would rather pay a bit more for the IS300 or Bimmer for the extra safety.

Maybe if I have got the Type S, I would be happier with 6 disc CD, VSA and more power.

If you want value, go with the TL

The Infinity is not really my cup of tea.

If you want a more sporty car, get the IS300 or Bimmer. They got a better chasis. The build quality of IS300 is better then Bimmer IMHO. I wouldn't get the Bimmer unless it's a M car or 540.

I personally have driven all of them, and to be honest, the handling of the TL is damn good for a big car. Don't get the IS300/Bmmer without a manual tranny. You lost the fun and the sportiness

At times I wish I would have held out for the WRX wagon. But if I did, I'm sure I would have had more regrets buying that car than the TL. Other than the squeaks, I'm very happy with my TL.

Talking

I love my TL, 8400 miles in 8 months, and thats with having another 2 cars I use.

Every time I get in my TL I go "AHHHHHHHHH, I love this car"

it seems like the car is always begging for a road trip, which is what I think the car is best for.. smooth cruisin on the highway at 85mph flippin through the CD's, not worrying about when you arrive.

The only annoyance I have is worrying about f'n headlight thefts.
