higher octane

My friend's dad has gas of 114 octane. I guess he uses it for his corvette, but anyways what would an octane that high do for a TL?

Nothing...TL/TLS is a family sedan. 93 octane is sufficient for it...any higher won't do any good (nor bad). 114 is for best for force induction applications.

Do not put more than 100 octane on your TL....100+ is usually always leaded,. unless you want to kill your cat converter. No need for it. Our cars would not take any advantage from it anyhow.
