High Voltage Kits

Do the high voltage kit sold on autocarparts.com site really worth it? Has anyone done this and what happened. Did you get more power, better MPG or nothing at all?

I'm not sure I know exactly what you mean by high voltage kit. Never heard of it before!

Are you talking about the Hyper Voltage kit? If so, I can think of better ways to spend $170.

yeah the hyper voltage kit. So you don't think it really works. I kinda was more interested in it because of my subs. They are pulling 600watts rms right now and I will upgrade my amp sooner or later to 500watts rms to each sub.

if you want something like that, you can make it yourself. Just go buy some 4 guage power wire from any car audio shop and you can cut to length the wires you need for not much money at all - and will acomplish the same thing, and I do believe it is worth it.

Though, 1000 watts RMS isnt going to need that much help - I have 1100+ RMS, and everything is just fine. The best thing would be to get an Optima Yellow top battery, and make those new ground wires yourself.

i already have an optima redtop which is actually a stronger battery, but doesnt have the same regenerative capabilities the yellow top does. If all I need to 4 gauge wire then what is the box that comes with the hyper voltage kit do? Also is there really any performance gain to be had here? How is it installed BTW?

the box is supposed to "smooth" out the power and grounding for your car - who knows how much it works. Im sure it does help some, and if you have the extra $170 laying around it would be interesting to hear from a TL person how they like it - I can only believe all the ricer people so much. With your stock ground wires (search for "the big 3 upgrade") after so much time being exposed, they just have bad connections - and arent very thick to begin with. Go look at the 2 coming off your battery and there is 1 on the top of the transmission and the 1 coming off your alternator - mine look like crap basically, so there is an obvious electrical flow improvement to be had by cleaning that up with new wires.
The redtop is a good battery for everyday use, but for a big stereo, the yellow top is much better because of its deep cycle capabilities and the regenerative capabilities like you said.

You can do the big 3 also and get a higher output amp.
