HID life

How long do HIDs last? Who's replaced them and how long did they last for you? Give details of time, miles, and typical usage (eg, always on). Thanks.

If you don't leave them on when you shut off your car (Auto on/off feature)..it'll last more than 5 years.

Usually HID can last the life of a car (6 yrs?) on avg use. But that depends on useage. Most of the time HID blew is because of water leakage/condensation. My car is 4 yrs old, 60k+ miles, and always had my HID on since I bought the car and they are still fine.

lol, I forgot we have a Honda, 10yrs+. I been driving dom. cars and believe me, the life on those things are 6 yrs. or less.

When I said a life of a car, I mean usually when people will dump it for a new car and takes into account accidents etc. I seen the #s from 6-10 yrs.
