HID Fog-lamps... how do i upgrade?! (noob)
Hey, this is my first post. I have a 2002TL-S and I don't like the yellow fog-lights. I would like it if the fog-lights matched the HID head-lights. Is this possible? What parts do I need to fully upgrade what i have? How much $$$ am I looking at? Thanks!

It's possible...but only if you use the SEARCH function. You'll find tons of stuff, I know because I just matched my fogs up with my HID's with just using new bulbs. Although not as bright as HID, but still effective.

Be prepared to spend about 200-500 bucks, depending on which kit you get.
But the installation is pretty simple. The factory wires will go into the ignitor/ballast unit, and the wires from the ignitor/ballast will go to the bulbs. Simple as that. Depending on the kit, the wires could simply clip in, or you might have to solder to connect them. But soldering isn't that hard, so it's no big deal.
And upgrade the foglight fuse to 30 amp from 20 amp, if the HID units fail to ignite properly, or flicker, or burn out the fuse.
Make sure to get 9006 (H4) based HID bulbs, because that's the factory base for the foglights. And to match the headlights, you will need 4200K temperature rating, or somewhere around there (4000-5000K should match nicely).
Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Just came across this forum and i'm happy that most of the input on this site seems to be from good-natured individuals who are knowledgeable. Very refreshing...
Cannan... what type of bulbs did you get? I can just plug and play with them? Maybe you could give more detail?
Thanks for the input guys.

Am I right?

From what I gather by looking in auto stores (and admittedly Wal*Mart) it appears that their bulbs and the ones you have are merely HID look alikes. Whereas the very expensive bulbs are true High Intensity Discharge. This is based solely on the price, availability, and installation parameters of the two types of bulbs.
Guys, am I right about this?
/Just upgraded from an 01 Accord; new to the whole hid light thing, yet dreadfully interested

Leviathan, you are correct. HID require a different electrical system to provide the voltage neccessary to run HID. Thus, you have to change a lot more than your bulbs to go from a halogen type system to an HID type system.
I'm not sure i want to suck it up to get HID in my fog's, so I may look into just replacing the bulbs with a brighter-white bulb (same halogen technology). This way it's a simple plug-n-play.
So... any pics out there of fogs with either the A1C, 9006, etc? User reviews?
Thanks,
