HID Ballast fried! what now?
So i had some water build up in my housing. I fixed that two weeks ago and didnt realize it but my right headlight is out. So I took out my ballast and it has water in it still! Well dried everything and now my headlights still dont work, I'm sure it was fried. replacing the ballast is not cheap, so i'm thinking about buying an ebay kit. I bought one before and it works just fine, has anybody tried this? any pics? My only concern is the buttom hole where the ballast is. Any feedback would be awesome, cause i'm looking to buy something this week. thanks oh yeah, what bulb size do we use? or is d2r the bulb size? and do you know what fog light size? I want to buy an hid kit for that. Do i need to get d2r for the foglights as well? thanks

just go to our vendor Excelerate. He sell the kits for our cars and i think they are like 109 shipped or something like that. They are great guys and will get you exactly what you need. You can just buy you a whole new kit and they are really easy to install.there are pictures of my car and another one that just did HID fogs. I did 4300k fogs to match my headlights and love it. you will be happy with the money spent i promise

What i did fobstylez is leave the dead ballast in it's place and installed the new hid kit I bought off ebay. I zip tied the ballast in an inconspicuous spot, then ran the wires through the casing that covers access to the stock bulbs. I did that by dremeling a hole in the back of the casing, putting a grommet in, then running the wire through and sealing it all up with electrical tape. It's not super pretty, but it's clean, it's covered by the plastic thing that covers the frame and it all works great. I couldn't be happier.
BTW, the screw bit for the casing screw is a T-20 Torx.

thanks man, that helps out a bunch. I ended up buying an hid kit with 6k bulbs, so I'm probably going to end up doing what you did. left the ballast on the bottom and just drill a hole for the wires, I probably wont use the electrical tape but probably seal it up with silicon. thanks though man, thats all i needed to know. I'll post pics when I actually get it
