Post Hey Snook or StreetEffectz....

I want to get an aftermarket Alpine DVD Navi installed in my "other" car. I have the factory Navi in my CL-S and I love it.

A few questions, though.

First, I'd like to know if I can use a moniter other than the motorized head unit moniters that Alpine offers. I don't want a stalk mounted moniter either. I'd really like to have a small visor mounted moniter installed to use strictly for the Navi. Can I do this? Does the Alpine Navi moniter have controls on it? If I can use a small visor moniter, where would I aim the remote control?

Second, where is the Navi antenna located? Is it mounted outside the car, like an older cell phone antenna? Or can I keep it inside the car?

Lastly, are you guys aware of any shops local to me (NY metro area) that could help me with this project? I have stopped at three custom stereo shops and not one of them seemed too eager/interested to help me. It gives me the impression that they've never installed an Alpine DVD Navi......

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can mount a monitor in the visor and use it strictly as a navi screen. You can get any kind of monitor really. The antenna mounts inside the car usually, OR, you can get an external mounted antenna. You can come to me if you are willing to travel, I am in Woodbridge, NJ.
