It works and it doesn't. It reduces so much backpressure that your low end is going to suck and your car will be LOUD. Why do this to a TL? Usually, they sell those at Mustang/Camaro aftermarket stores.

So pull it as you start to get to the high revs in 3rd gear.

I'd like to see someone install this on a TL... it might be cool. Maybe get a high flow cat and install it after the cat? That would give a little back pressure and then the check engine lights wouldn't come on because exhaust is flowing by the O2 sensor, right?

Imagine 1. pulling it on the highway at about 75mph and accelerationg, talk about top end 2. Using a soliniod instead of that ass ugly cable, with a switch or even an RPM activated switch, like a second Vtec hehe . I'd be interested to see if it would make anymore power up top above 4 or 5k rpm.

Don't waste you money on that guys, you'll lose whatever backpressure you have. They are generally really helpful when using it on a turbo application, to reduce the turbo lag, and allows the turbo spool faster. Plus its a rip-off, you can buy basically the same thing from JC whitlley for 21.95. If you want one get one from there, personal opinion. I don't really trust ebay much.

hmmm... interesting.... well, has anyone consider the high temperture that comes off the header? might be dangerous... i dont know... i see no point to it if you have stock headerz since the stock header isnt very smooth on airflow.... and besides..... your engine will not release any more air then the vavle holes could handle right? by the way? how does backpressue made you go faster on low end anyways? i've always herd that but no one ever explain to me why...

I purchased one from JC just to see what it was like. I was going to put it on my CRX but decided not too. I thought it would be cool to have it quiet one second the opened so easily. The switch between the two wasnt sealed so your exhaust would get louder either way.

It make sense to me........ only problem is that if the Y-pipe is not well made, you lose back pressure...... but if you the good one... then it's not a bad idea..........

i think, torque helps the acceleration, and HP helps with top speed and keeping the speed

They sell these things in J.C. Whitney catalogs for trucks.. its not anything special.. for trucks, they advertise it as something tehy can use offroad and such.. they just put "tl/rl/cl" on the ebay thing to draw customers .. i'm sure that person is selling the same thing for every other car too
