Post hey drag racers

Dumb questions from a guy who's usually too cheap to burn through trannies and tires:

Okay, so I've got a pretty good idea how to launch an old-fashioned manual transmission -- clutch in, rev it into the power band, then release the clutch as fast as you can without spinning the wheels, right?

Now, if I were crazy enough to try to beat MT's 0-60 times in my TL-S, how do I do it? With VSA on, do I just mash the accelerator, and trust the tranny to figure it out?

I'm sure some of you drag racers will have some real tips on how to do it properly.

Powerbrake to about 2500-3000 rpm, VSA off, then just let it go and mash the accelerator.

You should read a post titled:
D5 vs SS vs D1 0-60 results. 6.7-7.51

I did a personal test to see what method resulted in the best times.

It's back on about 3 pages.

Disclaimer: This was not a test to see what the 0-60 times were, but a test to see what method of shifting resulted in the best times.
