Here's my Dilemma (HELP!) 1st or 2nd GEN?
I currently own a 97 2.5TL Premium w/194,000 miles on it. It runs great but has all of the common 1st gen problems and more.
1. Sometimes it won't start in the morning
2. It runs hot when idle for 15min. because of a bad fan
3. It has a oil leak
4. Sometimes the key gets stuck in the ignition
5. It has about $800 worth of body damage on the rear
I got 2 estimates
My issue is I love the car because of it's dependability and very good ride. I have the chance to buy a 1999TL black on black w/195,000 miles on it for under $3000.
The kicker is it may need a transmission. I drove it and it is a little hesitant on 2-3rd gear but the car rode very well. It is very clean and dealer maintained by the owner.
I am having trouble trying to decide were to put my money,
in my 97 I have had for 3 years or just buy the 99 and take my chances on the tranny?
Your thoughts and feedback are appreciated

If you're trying to stay with an Acura, I'd fix the problems on your 97. It seems that other than minor repairs (other than the body work) your car can still go another 100K. I'd invest into fixing the car and keeping it for at least another couple years while you save up for one that you want, not one that's got just as many miles or more than the one you have now.
