I recently installed the AEM CAI w/bypass valve on my '02 TLS. When deceleration to a stoplight my engine drops under idle for a half second. Feels like it's gonna stall but it doesnt. Before the CAI everything worked AOK. Any ideas why this happens and what I can do to resolve it. It's just mildly irritatating.

What do you called under idle?? Idle should be 650rpm +-50. Does it drop to 300 rpm...hard to tell anyways. If not then is normal, maybe you didn't pay attention until you installed the CAI.

 

normal....thats just the torque conver unlocking...the intake makes it more obvious cus of the sound......

 

It drops about 200 rpm under normal idle than returns back to normal. It was fine before the CAI was installed.

only way to know for sure, since it seems no one else has the answer(including myself) reinstall the factory airbox and see if the prob goes away.
