Help with Pricing 2002 TL-S 130K miles

I have owned this car since July 2006, but now have a longer commute so have ordered a diesel that will do much better for mileage on the highway.

I won't be able to sell this until my new car is ready next month. For now I am just trying to figure out the right price to sell it for.

I bought it with 77K miles on it from the original owner who had leased it and then purchased it at the end of the lease. He had the transmission replaced, but no other major work. Over the last 6 years I have added about 50K miles with no major problems. I have all the service records and besides the timing belt/water pump service there have been no major repair bills. It has new tires and 16" after market wheels (2 of the original 17" wheels were bent, so I went with smaller wheels to make this less likely to happen again).

I have added an Alpine stereo with Ipod connection in the glove box. Other than that and the wheels it is all original.

KBB indicates a price of $6,500 for a good/very good car which I think this is. The body is in good shape except for a small dent on one fender which I have not had fixed. It is not very noticeable at all. Mechanically it is Excellent.

Edmunds indicates a price of $5,300.

Looking at the other listings, it seems that both of these prices are a bit low, so I wonder if that is generally the case with these websites? When my new car is ready, I would like to be able to sell this one pretty quickly, so I don't want to ask too much and have no interest in it.

Does $7,500 seem like a reasonable starting point, with the option to negotiate down to around $7,000 if necessary?

give yourself at least 500 to negotiate down maybe 750!
any ad I look at- mentally knock the dollar amount down to the nearest thousand
- as a starting point-,,$4498?,,lets start at 4 as my max offer, looking at 35-3700 as final figure

the book does not account the expense of the 105 service!!
something you can prove was done correctly and recently,,major bonus $$
a replaced trans--always good news
I am guessing you run the new honda dw1 atf?

forget the book values and look on craigslist and autotrader type sites
enter the year and make info in a `for sale` search and local cars will pop up
get an idea what used car dealers are asking as a start, with comparative maitenance etc

Our Black Market section has our `member used cars for sale`,,when you are ready
and have set a price,,no `interested?` ads--only actual for sales

CarMax is known to pay high prices for good car like yours- they can sell ones with clean history and big maitenance already done!!

If the dent is smaller than a quarter- try dry ice and the heat gun/hair dryer,
see youtube for help--it pops out small dents like magic

Good thing it is an Acura because it holds it's value more then other cars. But with the paperwork on the repairs it will help you get top dollar as well
