Angry Help! Object stuck in tire

While driving home from dropping my brother off at school, I noticed a weird noise coming from my back left tire..sort of a "..pop-pop-pop" noise while in motion. So I get home and start to examine my tire. At first, I thought it may be a bubble and that the "..pop-pop-pop" noise was the bubble expanding when putting pressure on that part of the tire. Well, I was wrong..its a thin metal object from what I can make out of it..maybe a razor blade? ..that's stuck in the thread of the tire. I figured I could just pull it out but when I slightly moved the metal object, the air started escaping, so I figure its best to leave it in for now. If anyone has any tips/suggestions, please reply! ..and if you're going to post for me to get new tires, don't bother. Thanks in advance.

You could get some of that tire repair in a can stuff. But it isnt a fix and ive heard its not that great. It would probably seal it and then you could pull the object out.

Thanks..and now that I think about it..I rode by some construction people working on part of a road. I am guessing it came from that.. ggrrrr. The metal object is about an inch in length. Could my tire still be patched?

Nope..not that I know of. The only thing remotely close to it is Tire Rack, which I believe they're going to charge a fee.

Definitely take it to a tire shop. I've done this twice the past few years. They will remove the tire and patch it from THE INSIDE with an actual patch!! Don't bother wasting time and money just filling it with a plug and stuff...get it done right. It has only cost me ~$10 CAD, so shouldn't be too bad for you in the States.

Sweet..thanks for all the help fellows. I figured it'd be around $50 to get it patched up..but hopefully, you guys are right about it not being so expensive.

$50, wholly cow inflation hasn't been that high. It may be $20 at the highest if they have to take the tire off the car. Just make sure whatever it is didn't cut the belts. Oh yeah and make sure they don't mess up your rims putting them on the machine.

Hahaha..well everything around my house seems to always be "overpriced" ..hhhmmm? Anyhow, thanks for the heads up. And is there any way for me to know if it punctured through the belt or not? I only have 9k miles on my tires..so, I'm guessing 85%-90% thread still left?

Oh.. in that case, might the tire warranty cover it? I have a feeling not, since I think they only cover instances where it has punctured the sidewall...not when you've run over something... ??

Yeah..they were able to patch it up and I got it done for free. The bad news is that they scratched up my rim a bit..*sigh* when I specifically told them to be careful..but I can't really complain since they didn't charge me for anything.
