Help Not the usual Transmission problem

I have a 1999 Acura Tl That I swaped the transmission in with a KNOWN good transmission, but now the transmission will only go into 1 gear and after about 25 feet it will drop out of gear. No codes no flashing D4. Any suggestions???

Did you swap the Torque converter with the known good transmission? Did you have fluid in it when you installed it?

ATF low?

Bad trans grounds?

Adjust the shift cable. May be out of adjustment or defective.

Check for obstruction at Lock-up and Shift valve B Solenoids. Check the connections too.

Yes I swaped the converter also and it had fluid in it I will check the grounds

How do you know the transmission that you swapped was good?

The swapped trans could be messed up.

+1 on low fluid. Check the level with engine warm and off, on a level surface.

For the '99 model, you're at 7.5Qt total capacity. DW-1 ONLY, fill to the upper mark when at operating temperature (radiator fan comes on at least once). Over/under filling can cause shift quality problems in our cars, the difference between upper/lower holes on the dipstick is about .5 Qt if what I've heard is correct.

FYI '00-'03 models is 7.6Qt total capacity.
