Red face Help, I'm just a girl

Hey All, I didn't really want to blow my cover as a girl cause I wanted every suggestion and reply to be unbiased. But I thought the title would get attention. And it has a lot to do with my following question/situation/problem. And yes I know I'm gonna get those replies that say I'm being sexist or whatever but please save it. Anyway, about 4 years ago when I first went to college. I let my TL sit in the school parking lot for a long time, being as how I was just walking everywhere on campus. And, eventually, birds would pass by and do their business on my car, and I figured I could always take it off. As you know and I now, my freakin car hood is all stained like in 3 different areas. Does anyone know of an at-home-fix or does this require major body shop detailing and repair? Any suggestions/experiences will be appreciated!

Sounds like you are gonna need to have a detailer buff it out. Sucks to hear that.

Welcome to the forum.

I'd recommend that you visit the Wash & Wax Forum for tips on removing crap residues. YOu might be able to rub it out using a Clay Bar. But it sounds like the bird crap has permeated it too much that you might require some professional help.
You should also visit autopia.org where a majority of detailers do visit and might be able to provide a more accurate response.

Get compound (light version , I perfer 3M) and Polish all using a buffer and lots of changing on buffer pads.

Good luck.

If you're from the bay I know a guy in SF that can do a full detailing job for just $60.

Hey all, thanks for all the replies. Looks like I'll be taking her to a detailer shop cause the clay bar just didn't work. Although it did make the rest of it feel nice and silky.

To 98tlracer: I've never heard of a full detail job for that cheap. He must be a pretty good friend?

If you used a claybar, make sure you use a good wax on the car afterwards as well. A claybar will strip off all of the wax you have on the car and just leave the clear coat out to the elements, so you should try and protect it again with a few good coats of wax, or some sort of other sealant like Zaino.

Just polish it again...but be careful not to polish to much, you might go to deep and scratch the paint.

Bird bombs will quickly etch your paint if not removed quickly. Sounds like these bombs were sat on the paint for a while, so the etching is probably pretty severe.

If clay, compound, polish, etc. won't remove it, I'd take it to a professional detailer to see if they could get it out by machine.

Agreed with the post, this belongs in the wash/wax forum.
