HELP: I sliced my rear bumper... Needs new one :(

While backing slowly, I hit a sign post which sliced my rear bumper like a butter knife

And I am now

Please, Can anyone help me find a replacement at a resonble price? I need a black painted rear bumper cover.

Thanks... and please no nusty jokes...

....Damn it... I pretty I went to the first "reputable" Collision center, fine lines autobody.

Guess how much I was quoted.... An ass whopping $1195 to fix the bumper and the driver's door dings!!!.... :wow:

Wait sec, when I asked about paint detailing (wash and wax)... I was quoted $750-$1,000 because my car has paint overspray...!!!

That is a total of $2,000 to $2200 to fix a bumper, some door dings and wash and wax....

Now, I see myself in the wrong business....

:yack:

maybe you should find out how much the parts cost b4 you make a judgement .The bumper has to be replaced which im guessing is somewhere in the range of a $1000 and those dings n dents are easy to fix but will require repainting and blending in the paint.Your looking at quite a bit of work as well as materials.

You can take your bumper cover off and take it to a body shop who can repair the tear and paint it, should take three days or so and be $350 to 400. Try that, or go to your dealer and buy a cover brand new $250 and have it painted,$250. That is what I did.

You are right... Rear Bumper is just $241. I was willing to pay up to $500, but $2,000 is just insane.

The plan is to find a place to do it all paintless dent removal, bumper cover replaced and painted and wax and polish and I will pay the $500 dedecutable...

Still Auto Body repairs is crazy expensive.....

I have an extra NBP rear bumper cover from an '03 TL! Someone side swiped it. There are no dents in it, just a few spots where they took my paint and left some of theirs. Maybe two very shallow gouges, more like deep scratches. I'm sure that can be patched up.

I bought a new cover for like $260 after tax and got it painted for $181. I put it on myself to save on the labor.

If you would be interested in buying mine, let me know. The damage is right around the license plate area, everywhere else is fine. I'm not sure if they would be able to fix just that area or not? I have pics. If you might be interested in buying it, let me know. I'd be glad to get it off my hands very cheap.
