Unhappy Help! Heated Seat Problem???

I just realized that my 01 TL's Driver side heated seat is not working correctly. It took around 20 mins to heat up. Sometimes don't heat up at all. Any suggestions on where the mechanical problems are at? the passenger side works fine, only take about 5 mins to heat up!

fsttysms1 is right -- I had some interior work done on my 2000 TL. When the leather was removed, we noticed that the heater element was burned through in one place. While I hadn't noticed that the heater wasn't working... it was just a matter of time. I think if you pull the leather from the seat (or have this done), you'll see what the problem is right away!

Hopefully you still have some warranty left?

Yep. Fsttyms1 is right again. This lists for $101.67 and is called "front seat heater". I found it online for about $89, so that's the range for the part. If you don't want to try it yourself, have an upholstery shop do it -- probably cheaper than the dealer.

I had the same problem, just gave it back to dealer to fix it.

It has been more than 2 weeks since I have turned in my TL.

The first time the dealer fixed didn't seem to work. He said that the mechanic shorted something and the heaters got burned out instantly.

So they have ordered a second one and are still waiting for it to arrive

Meanwhile I'm driving their 06 TSX. Its fun

No. Its baisically disconect the battery, remove the seat from the car, remove leather cover and replace.
