HELP! 2001 BMW M3 For $9,000
Alright heres the deal. I have been looking for a new car and came across a 2001 BMW M3 for $9,000. Have you heard of anything like this before? Is it a scam? The seller is a member of squaretrade. What do I do?

Look at it this way why would he sell it for 1/4 of what he could get by driving down to Carmax, no fuss no muss and sbout $35k in his pocket, unless it is TOTAL junk.

I've talked to this guy before, and he told me he was in France. I recognize his typing style, and also the SquareTrade thing.
Common sense! That car is still worth $40,000 - NO ONE sells it for $9,000

Even if it is located in the same city, don't do it. Your "common sense" meter should be going off the charts!
If you really have $9,000 burning a hole in your pocket for this car, look at it first and drive it. Make sure you bring someone with you who can either back up what was said in the conversation, or can protect you in case anything goes wrong (like someone pulls a gun to rob you or something).
Just protect yourself and don't go for it.

My friend, dont be a sucker and let this one go away. Any advise before anyone buys a used car is the following:
1. Check the carfax but this can also be incorrect.
2. Take the care to a Acura shop and have them lift the card to see and damage (rust, accidents etc..) before you pay 1 cent.
This guy is looking for a sucker to give him $$$ so do not loose sleep on this deal and move on.

Forget about it, it must be a SCAM!!!!!
Same thing happens to me when i try to purchase a bike. Find couple deal way to sweet to be true. Like 2-digit miles 2004 CBR for $1500. No matter how you email about your suspiecious they always try to comfort you down by just sending couple hundreds for downpayment.
Forget this deal man, this is not gonna happen in the real world.

Don't be a fool.
Why would anybody want to sell it at that price unless they are looking to rip off naive people.
Someone may have it, put it for sale, you go there test drive it. Then they tell you to finalize it on the computer. You go to pick it up and they tell you that it was not the car or some bull like that.
Listen to all of us. No single person telling you to go for it.

Scams like these are so common. If you're that gullible to think this is a real deal then I think you deserve to be taken. Don't waste anymore of your time with this scammer.

I just went down to the location with my good friend (who is a cop) where the seller told me to send the money. I saw the BMW in his shop and it looked perfect. My friend ran the vin # and checked the car and it came up stolen from a auction in illinois. My friend said we have to go, so we left. About 10 minutes later squad cars showed up and arrested the seller. I was awarded with $100 and my friend got a promotion. To make a long story short the police seized the car and are giving me a chance to buy the car before it goes back to auction for $18,000. Thats what was owed on the car. So I'm going to get the car tommorow.
