Hello Thread

Just wanted to start a Hello thread in this forum. First time I have been on this forum. I have been reading up on some info to try and diagnose and fix problems on my girlfriends car. She drives a 2003 Acura TL base. I used to drive an Acura Legend for a few years. Now I'm back to a honda accord wagon. Nothing too special. I like motorcycles and car obviously. I have an older 84 Yamaha RZ350 2 stroke street bike. Loads of fun by the way. I might post pics later.

Now onto why I wanted to join this forum. I am in need of some help. Hopefully this problem is easy to remedy. So here it goes, I don't know if the car is a late 2003 or not. Its my girlfriends car. She was running 87 octane gas in it until about 3 weeks ago. The car was pinging and predentonating. So I put a full tank of 93 octane. After that it ran fine. It stopped pinging and whatever else. She has been 93 ever since this pinging occurred one afternoon. Now sometimes the car has a high idle and literally will the drive will drive itself. It doesn't always have the high idle though. It doesn't matter if the A/C is on or not. The car every once in a while just have a high idle. I have the codes checked there were none. I also has the guy check the sensors with the code checker and it reads fine with all the emission equipment. Does anyone have any possible ideas what could be causing this. The car runs fine just has a high idle sometimes.

Sorry for the long post. Looks to be a nice little community around here.

By the way I forgot to write this in the post. When I say a high idle I am talking about it will be about 7-800 rpm normally then it will go to 1500 rpm or 2000 rpm when its in Neutral or park. It won't do it while just driving. Its usually after driving for a little while then coming to a stop the idle will be high. Then the next stop light its fine. Its never constantly stoplight after stoplight. Just sometimes.

There is a thread already started that is similar to this. I looked and I found it for you.
