Headlights Stolen $5000

I got my 03 TL’S last month and now my headlights got stolen. The lights alone are $1700, then to replace the hood, fenders, bumper and paint and blend the car, total $5600 and it could happen again! I am thinking of getting non Xenon headlights to make my car less prone to being robed, any suggestions?

Man that sucks.....I'm very worried about that also....I dont think puttin non HID light would help any because there is really no way to tell by lookin at them when they are off. Unless you put a sign on your car that says "HID's have been removed from this vehicle" they will rip them out again and then find out they arent HIs's so I dont think that wil help any.

Damn! That sucks! You could:
- Park in a garage
- Leave an armed Midget in the car
- Install an explosive connected to your Xenon lights
- Install shock sensors placed near the headlights
- Install a better car alarm
- Sleep with a firearm in your car!

Later,

Unhappy

I sure hope that's one trick that doesn't make its way to the West Coast!

Too bad about your car. I have seen TL's at the dealership repair shop with the eyes popped out and almost no damage to the rest of the car. I guess your theives didnt really know how to rip em out because apparently it can be done with narry a scratch.

LOL @ that fool talking bout decent neighborhood. Its actually safer to park your car in a "ghetto " than in a "decent neighborhood." The fellas that steal the headlight go to the decent areas because their more likely to find a TL there. Im only 24 and me and my girl live together. We live in the ghetto, but its a nice ghetto. I cant afford to live on park ave yet...lol... i have 03 TL-s navi.19 in. chromes. She has 98 honda accord coupe w/ 17 chrome. Both cars are flawless.... To make a long story short. They dont fvck with the hood cause they might just get killed in the hood...get my drift, why would they try and take mines when the thugs always outside and will beat them down in a heatbeat. There is little to no risk in jacking yours

I dont know about you guys, but out here in Los Angeles people steal anywhere... Good neighborhood or not there are some $hady a$$ people out there.

my headlights almost got stolen in Downtown LA
And about leaving your ride in da ghetto ROFLMAO!
Its just less of a distance for them to travel to get your ride. Around LA, one time dont patrol tha hoods. You could get shot sitting at a bus stop and no one will come forward as a witness. Basically U DONT PARK YOUR CAR IN DA GHETTO or ON THE STREETS.

IF YOU DONT EVEN OWN A GARAGE, then your priorities are backwardz.

I feel for you bro. I almost got my head lights took off. I went to the body shop to fix the bumper and it cost me alot of money. I don't know where we can put our car now. Maybe in the garage all the time i guess.

Yeah, no kidding. If you have a $30K car and you park it on the street, that just don't really make sense.

Bottom line....you gotta get an alarm with a battery backup siren. You need to draw as much attention to your car as possible if someone sets off the alarm.

Silly rabbit .. I dont have a garage but that does not make me poor. Im still in school, my girl graduated last semester. My rent where i live is $900. My car note is $430w/ $15,000 deposit, which means its not a lease. My DSL bill with phone bill is 130 my darn cell phone bill is 74.99. Lets not mention groceries and the cable and regular entertainment expenses( other girls and gambling lol). My girl car note is $350. She is paying back her school loans. NOt to mention her a$$ stay in the damn mall...but anyway sorry to let the biz out but what im saying is that i live in the ghetto but its not really a ghetto. Everyone in my community looks out for each. The minute something happens to my car. Neighbors will let me know in seconds trust me. LOL@ garage... I have a friend in acura that told me guys come in with their headlights gone and they parked their cars in the garage... why am i gonna pay $120 per month for a stupid garage... and if yah wanna see pics of my car i will submit em
