Unhappy headlights

How does the H.I.D system work if the car uses halogen bulbs? I don't get it, sorry... can someone explain? thanks

Our car does NOT use halogen bulbs.

Simple explanation: HIDs use xenon gas to light it up. It uses less wattage than a regular halogen (35w vs. 55w) therefore it lasts longer.

I'll let somebody explain in detail for you later. Too lazy to look it up.
