Header Install

I know that the install should be fairly easy, but I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a header DIY. I am going to order the DC sports headers soon, and wanted to be prepared. Do I need to buy new gaskets? How about the stock heatshields? Do those go back on or do we discard them? (I saw most peoples pics of headers didn't have the sheilds on) I just want to save myself from any headaches! I already did a search and read the recent thread by Jakester and I can't really find much here. Any help or suggestions would be great!

the new headers will replace the heatshields..

people recommend getting new oem gaskets from acura or honda (accord v6), or the headers may even come with a set, not sure if the DC does or does not..

people also suggest getting Liquid Gasket sealer or something like that to put onto the gaskets to prevent leaks, do a search on that..

as far as the install goes.. its pretty straight foward... remove the 6 bolts i think it is on the front and rear manifolds. the rear will be a bit tricky and you have to do it kind of blind.. basically just stick the ratchet back there and find your way around. then there are 3 bolts on each downpipe/manifold connection (2)... the three that connects the downpipe to the cat and 2 that attaches the hanger to the frame.. and just reverse..
you should get some Liquid wrench or wd40 to loosen up some of the connections, and a breaker bar..
just be patient.. took me 9 hours to do, but it should tkae 6 or so..

I couldn't intelligently answer that. I know he is a moderator on and he used to post on here some. I believe he is Austin519 on here.

gaskets shoud've come with the new header, if not you will need them as they're a compression gasket and the ones coming off will be flattened and won't provide a good seal, if you take the upper strut tower bar off you'll have alot more room to get at the rear bank
