Head unit tries to stop working when the car stops, WTF?

Just noticed it a few mins ago. When i come to a stop or a really slow roll the radio cuts in and out but my sub keeps hitting. Any idea what would cause this? I feel like this is a start of bigger problem.

Aftermarket stereo? If so, maybe you have a loose ground connection somewhere.

You're not consistent....you say the head unit stops working but the subs keep "hitting". The subs shouldn't "hit" without a signal from the headunit.

How about specifying what your audio setup is like?

JVC headunit alpine amp kenwood sub is the setup. what i said was right the power doesnt shut off to the headunit but it cuts in and out (headunit is still powered) at high volume but the subs dont miss a beat. if i put it into neutral it works fine as soon as i put it in drive it starts to cut in and out. also as soon as i give it the slightest amount of gas it works fine

so the audio cuts in and out to the door speakers but the sub continues to work? Sounds like a short or the radio is bad. First thing i would do is check all the wiring.

well i guess its time to rip the radio out again. the mind boggling part is that it works fine when the car is moving
