Has Anyone Brought their TL in to check out their Tranny??

:killer: Hey, I have a 99TL and I want to make some modification to it to boost it's HP but I'm not sure now hearing about this Tranny problems. Has anyone took their TL to the dealer just to check out their Tranny? If so, did they honestly tell you that you had a Tranny problem or just BS with you and say your car is okay? My friend is goind to get his TL check soon for any Tranny problem before his 100,000 miles warr. is up. He has about 94,000 on his right now. Did they charge you for just checking it out? And are the 99TL on the recall list? Thanks...

Call your local Acura dealer, ask them you want to see if your car is on the recal list, if the dealership is nice and friendly they will do it for you by asking you your TLz VIN number. Their database has list of all the TLz that are recalled on this note. The plan is to send out letters to the owners of all those effected TLz, and if you are on that list and you wait for your letter you will get it, when you might ask, that only Acura knows. I didn wait for mine, just called them up gave them the VIN and they looked it up, and there it was, my car is on the recall list, and i am schedualled for september 10th. As i know so far, they check your tranny and see if the damage is beyond repair and if the tranny needs to be replaced, if so, they do replace it. On the other hand if they come to know that the tranny is still in tact, then they install the oil jet kit to avoid and damage in the future and solve the problem. I dont know what would be my case when i go there. Anyways your best bet right now is to call them up and see if you TL is on the recall list or not.
