just out of curiosity, is the insurance company directly paying the body shop?

or did you have to get it quoted from the shop, and then report back to the insurance company and they gave you a check for that amount?

I just wanted to know how the whole process works.

milk his fucking insurance and get brand new right side doors... hope the middle bars not damanged and get a lip and both side skirts while your at it... oh and cant forget a brand new exhaust set up...

my boy got side swiped got really over quoted by a random shop for $2350 for a civic fender and mudguard (fender and front bumper needed paint) he went on ebay bought a painted bumper and fender... oh yeah and the driver side rear view mirror got taken off as well... he must've spent somewhere like 450 in parts... the other 1900 went into parts the car looks amazing now too... do the same, milk his insurance bone dry for being a dick... I hope you can smething like 7500 for repairs... go to different shops get quotes... present the adjuster with the highest quote and of course go to the most reputable shop which will hook you up... dare I say you might be able to get a fresh coat of paint on the entire car hehehe (mr burns says "excellent")

Best of luck and post up after pics of what your fresh TL will look like

^^
Well, The insurance company sends out an appraiser (third party) to check out the car. Then the appraiser sends the estimate back to the insurance company and I have to pick out whatever shop I want. Then whatever shop I take it to the insurance company will have to pay directly to the shop. I guess different insurance company does it differently on how to process a claim on an accident.

that kind of sucks... I mean it is your car... you may want to tell your insurance co you'd like to take care of the fix then

Update:

Car is still in the shop. Switched out the rental car (Dodge Charger) for another car...07 Toyota Camry. I kinda like the new Camry...but only thing that sucks...it's not a v6. I'm driving a 4 banger around with a lack of power.

Update:

Called the guy and went down there to check out the car. He said the car will be done by Weds. So far the car looks good...only thing that i'm worry about is the color match of the parts. Didn't really check out the color of the parts, since the car was inside the garage and it was cloudy. Just have to wait and see whats up when I get down there.

I guess this is a good thing....i got one new tire...haha
