Haggling on a price for 03 TL-S

Does anyone know if the dealer gets any of the interest generated from a loan with Honda Finance? I went to the web site that has sticker, invoice and buyback prices. If the dealer gets some of my interest I dont see why I can offer 500 less than invoice. The buyback is over $900.

I was reading a site that said on-line loans are almost always sheaper than the dealer or local banks.

So far that has NOT been the case. Honda Financing offering 4.29% (last time I checked) was the cheapest one, local OR on line.

One cute little strategy I read aout is to fax (not e-amil) about a dozen different dealers with in 150 miles of you. Tell the "Internet Manager" that your ready to buy TL-S and what your down-payment is and that your faxing several dealers and taking bids.

When you get a few responses just fax the higher bidders back that XYZ Acura dealer has bid $XX,XXX and your taking counter offer bids. Let them kill each other for your business and not you begging them to sell you a car.

I just wouldn't put the price your willing to pay in the faxes but a keep a set monthly payment and loan duration in mind.

Look over this site:

2.9% on tl and tls till end of month. I just didnt know if the dealer got some of the interest. If they do thats more room for me to haggle with them. Im going to offer 28500 for tl-s or I walk over to honda and get a ex-v6,car not as good but wife will be happy.

28,500 on a brand new TL-S?? That's a hell of a price.

There are two Acura dealerships in my hometown, and I got them to bid against each other. The lowest I could get was 30,200.

Dude! Your not buying a friggin Ford.. Acura's dont usually sell below invoice. 99% of dealers will not touch their invoice price unless its a demo, has a lot of test drive miles (over 500) or is a old age unit (been on the lot for longer than 200 days). The invoice on t TL-S is a little over 29K. $200 over invoice is prolly the best your gonna get on a new TL-S.

Peace!

I think below invoice is very possible, especially since the dealer gets 3% holdback from Acura. Plus, there is stiff competition out there, not only with other Acura dealers, but with a bunch of other high-performance entry-level luxo sedans.

I just got an email from Downey Acura (in SoCal) that gave a vehicle ID and said was a TL-S for $28,5xx. I didn't check it out because I had already purchased my TL-S ($29,400) so I don't know any of the details.

So do any of you who gets the interest from my loan? Im assuming Honda finance gets most but also the dealer gets a portion. That interest can help with the price I get.

American Honda Finance gets the interest, the dealer might get a kickback or something for financing with AHF but it is nothing you can haggle with.

FWIW, I paid $29300 for my TL-S last May and got 4.5 % financing, it seems the deals are a little better on them right now though.

Also got 2.9% through Honda. The finance guy told me I need to get above 720 on my credit score, don't know if he was for real, but I beat it!

RH-

If you don't mind, could you let me know if your price goes through or not?? It will give me a good base of what to offer when I'm ready in a couple months to get mine.

Here's my e-mail:

tblasing@zoomtown.com
tblasing@fuse.net

BTW- Do you know a gal named Denice Mohr? Just a shot in the dark, someone I used to date about ohhhhhhh 23 years ago.

The more you know, the better price you get. I cruise by after hours every tuesday night. My wife thinks I am stalking the car. Im really just waiting to hear about my buy back.

Good deal RH. She and I dated here in Cincinnati but she moved up there in about '87.

The two dealers down here have about 4-6 Silver at one place and 5 white ones at their competition's. I'm just gettin' REAL antsy

The internet is a powerful tool, amazing other than porn what you can research. 04 tl out in late summer so I am assuming they are motivated to get the 03's off the lot, plus once the new one (forget the initials) comes out that will slow down TL sales also. Accordinf to consumer reports the true dealer cost on a tls is around 27500.

There's more on the internet than acura-tl.com, ebay and porn?

OMG!!! Why hasn't anyone told me?

Rover Hater-

Looks like we have some VERY common ties! I grew up on Iliff Ave. not too far away from Elder in Price Hill. Did your mom go to Seton then? I went to West Hi instead but heard every football game from Elder's PA 2 1/2 blocks away on my front porch. This is gonna be a sad one to tell but Skyline Chili tore down their first location down the street just last year. I went to the pile of rubble and got a couple bricks from the building as a momento.

When some of my redneck friends (are there any other kind around there?) would get plastered they would send me to Skyline to get some grub for 'em. By the time I got back they would be passed out on the front porch so you-know-who would just have a fiest!

They built another one on Warsaw where Hardee's used to be by Ross Ave. I lived there from '65 to '85. Denise lived on Pedretti in Delhi by Delhi Jr. High.

My Grand ma lived in N College hil, my other grandfather lived on Colerain Ave, next to 6 mile house restauraunt if you know that area. I still drive down to get my mom Graeters double butter cakes for her birthday and Mothers day.

Hey Rover Hater...

I stop by Vandevere every other night and drool over the H2's! My wife thinks I stalk them.

I'm really debating on whether to mod my TL-S over the next year (wheels/tires/headers/etc) or save the $$$ and get an H2 in '04. They are totally 2 different automobiles, but I just love the H2's! (Gotta get the Yellow one of course)

I think someone else here said that H2's have the front suspensions taken from the Tahoe and the rear running gear from the Suburban.
