I was wondering, for the auction, if you scroll down a little you'll notice that he has H&R Sport Springs for the 03 "Aucra TL."

My question is: Will this fit my '03 TL Type S? Are the Sport Springs the same for the '03 TL and the '03 TL-S?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like it will work with the TL and TLs. Of course when in doubt, you can go to the H&R website and check there. They list the applications for their springs.

I already answered this question in the other thread.

'02-'03 CL and TL (including Type-S) should use 50103. 51858 is for '99-'01.

Since yours is a '99, you can get the 51858 kit. Good luck.

But according to the auction, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...em=2440678066, H&R Sport Springs part number 51858 fits the TL from '00-'03.

Are they lying? I was going to go pick it up this Friday. I don't have a lot of money and this was the best deal I could find.

Adrenaline, are you mistakened by any chance? Will the 51858 fit my '03 TLS? He doesn't seem to have the 50103...

Thanks.

51858 WILL fit the '03 TL-S. But it will also sag quite a bit in the rear. Hence the reason H&R wants you to get 50103 for '02 and up. I can tell you right now that with my 50103 kit (Sports front and OE Sports rear) has smaller wheel gap in the rear. But then again, I have a system in the trunk. Therefore, it would give a nearly even drop with 50103 if you don't have a system. With 51858 without a system, it'll be slightly lower in the rear, kind of like my car right now. But if you have a system or are planning on getting a system, then I would highly recommend getting the 50103. Otherwise it'll look like you have 5 dead bodies in your trunk.

Whats the difference between 99/00 and 01-03? Would I be better off getting 50103 for my 00 w/ system? Or will it not fit right?

HAHHH 5 bodies in the trunk. Damn that's hilarious. Well Adrenaline, I'll take your advice on that because this is actually my first time owning a car so my expertise is very limited.

But I was wondering:

1) Is the 50103 a Sport Springs series?

2) I was looking at acura-tl.com (autocarparts.com) but when I clicked on the H&R Sport Springs for my '03 TLS, it only provided me with the 51858 series as options. Where exactly can I get the 50103.

Please help I really need to drop my car. I'm just fed up with the wheel gap after 11,100 miles on it. Thanks.

One of the very few places that carries the 50103 kits right now.

unlemming --

Not much difference. The only reason H&R specifies using 50103 for '02 and up is because of the TL's redesign in '02. If H&R specified using 50103 for all '99 and up TL/CL's, then their current inventory of 51858 kits would not sell and become a complete waste of their money. But on the other hand, people are complaining about the sag, so they have to do something about it. Hence the 51858 and 50103, making people have an illusion that something was changed in '02, hence the new 50103 kit. Just a business tactic, that is all.

I'm sure you could get 50103 on '99-'01. As far as I know, '99-'03 TL's did not have any structural changes in their suspension design.

Hope that helped.

It is the Sport springs set.

58185 - H&R Sport springs for '99-'01
50103 - H&R Sport springs for '02-'03

50103 uses dark blue Sport springs for the front and grey OE Sport springs (yes, that OE Sport springs) for the rear. It's a combination of Sports and OE Sports, in other words.

51858 is a straight-up Sport springs set. Four dark blue Sport springs for all four corners. This is the set that causes the sag in the rear, especially with weight in the trunk, ie. system, etc.

I think you can get it for like 173.xx shipped on Tirerack.com.

Oh, and you'll love the new look.

Good luck.

Dang thanks a lot, Adrenaline. So my best option right now is to go for the 50103 because I really want an even drop for the front and the rear.

And because I don't have any system in the trunk (or carry around dead bodies), hopefully the 50103 will allow me to achieve an even drop all around.

Thanks again, Adrenaline. When I get enough money I'll be placing an order of 50103 from tirerack.com.

Hi, I have (2) 12" Rockford Fosgate subs and an Audiobahn A18001DT amp in my trunk. I have a 1999 TL. What springs should I go with... the 58185 or the 50103? It sounds like the 58185's would sag waaaay too much w/ a system in the trunk. Is this accurate. Please post opinions on what set I should get.
THANKS!!!

50103 and 58185 will both work from '99 to '03. The suspension of the car has not changed.

The 58185 was designed for the accord V6 which is why it was found that they lowered the rear more than the front on the Tl's.

50103 looks like a combination set which will give a more even drop so it's the one to get for a TL or TLS for any year.

So the 50103 uses OE springs for the rear right?

That would mean that there would be no camber issues?

Pure Adrenaline, did you end up installing the OE with the Sports? Or did you get sports all around?
