H&R Spring Question

I am planning on getting H&R Sprots springs. I have heard that getting springs and leaving your stock shock setup wears out the shock after a while. Is this true???

Yes, the shock's rebound is "tailored" to the factory spring. If you go to a shorter spring, it'll bottom out sooner and effect the "life" of the shock.

How long will they last? I have no idea. It depends on the driver and road conditions.

the stock struts will wear out, but it depends on how old they are when you install the springs..for example, i installed my H&R sports when i only had 4000 miles on my car...i'm at almost 24000 miles and the is no sign of the struts wearing out

So it is OK for me to put springs on my car to lower it and keep my factory struts? Of course both of my front ones are brand new, as is every piece of front suspension and half the rear is brand new too. I just want to make sure that I wont bottom out or scrape my wheel wells. Heres my setup:

99 TL
-03 TL-P Rims
215/55/16 Bridgestone Turanza LS-H (I think its 55, give or take 5)

And for the record, what should I go with? Its either H&R Sport Springs, or the Tein S-Tech. Opinions everyone? I've searched and searched, but I can only find 2 topics dealing with the Tein S-Tech, is this a fairly new product? I'm looking just to drop the car a little, and maybe firm up the suspension a little bit.

I've got H&R Sport.

Ride is a bit bumpier now compared to stock, but nothing you can't live with. Our cars have really soft suspension to begin with.

I don't know anything about the Tein springs. So I won't comment on those.
