I don't think so, The TL-S' drivetrain is derived form the CL-S and any quirks would have been taken care of.

I've really enjoyed what you guys and gals have had to say regarding your cars. I've never owned an Acura, but started to consider one last year, and am now considering buying a Type-S soon after I graduate from college this May.
My concern is the reliability of the VHS and other bugs that might be associated with the new model.
It seems like the TL's have a few minor annoyances such as faint rattles, but no major problems. I'm thinking they've had a few years now to work out the bugs on the TL.
Does anyone have this same concern? Are you planning on waiting on the 2003 (or later) Type-S?

I don't think there will be too many problems for several reasons. One, the CL-S has been out for over a year and they're so similar that the "bugs" on that car have been fixed, and will probably never appear on the TL-S. Two, it's not a totally new model, it's a redesign. The basis of the new TL-S is still the TL, so it should be fine. Only time will tell, but we should be good.....

It is not even a re-design (which happens every 4 years or so), this iteration of the TL is just a minor face-lift with the addition of a few doo-dads already present in the CL/CL-s for about a year.
