Great way to finish off the year... v. brakes
Last Friday, I went to work on the front brakes. I was taking off the Rotora BBK and installing the factory brakes.
Afterward, I bled the brake lines using 2.5 quarts but the pedal kept going all the way to the floor. Took it around the block very slowly and I had ZERO braking power.
I was going on a trip with the wife, so I just parked the car until this morning. Went and bought 2 more quarts of brake fluid and went through most of it. Still the pedal went to the floor.
I was getting pissed off at this point... then I looked at the calipers and the light bulb over my head went off. The bleeder valves were facing down. All the air was trapped on the top side.
Swap the calipers left to right, bleed through like 1/3 of a quart and voila!!!!!
So let this be a vicarious lesson to all of you... always double check your work. I'm a genius who fixed his own stupid.
Oh and Happy New Year!!
P.S. Taking off the brakes and other parts because she's being traded in. Almost eight years to the dot since I bought her. But I will save that for another thread.

nice car, very clean look.
yeah make sure you double check when you bleed brakes. i made the stupid mistake of letting the master cylinder run dry and ended sucking air into the lines and the abs system. soo stupid, ended up bleeding like hell and had to do 3 abs activations to get all the air out, now she's good and stops hard.

when the lines have been open,, like changing calipers
YOU MUST
do 2 ABS active stops from 45mph, come to complete stop - get back to 45 and full effort ABS pumping stop--this means use water-dirt- steering etc to make ABS work
IF the 2nd stop had firmer pedal, there was air trapped in the abs controller and now its in.. or on the way to the caliper
rebleed entire system
remember order is LF= driver front then clockwise around the car LF RF RR LR
