Got my First Ticket (should've been 3)!!!
I was driving about 65 in a 35 zone at lunch. Totally forgot to connect my radar back on.
Well anyway, the cop pulls me over. At first I thought it was a man, but when she came closer I realized that it had breasts.
"License and Registration" - she says
I pull out my Fraternal Order of Police Active Supporter card so she can see it (just like my cop friend told me) and then my license. Its the first time I've ever flashed this card to the cop. My buddy who I went to high school with, is a local cop. So he told me that cops really get soft when they know that you are a supporter. Its only $25/year.
She comes back after few minutes and tells me the following:
"I should've gave you 3 tickets. One for reckless driving, one for speeding and another one for seatbelt. But I'm gonna reduce your speed to 52 and forget about other violations, because you care about the force and support us. Drive carefully"
Sweet!!!

Must be that special time of the year....Time for a little revenue "enhancement" I shared a special moment with "the man" the evening before we picked up the TL-S...(could it be an ominous foreshadowing of things to come???....)
He was sitting behind a row of trees in someone's driveway - I was like WTF, where's the sport in that??? That said, he had me cold for 65 in a 35, but I was pleasant, said "sir" alot (even though he was younger than me), and since i didn't mouth-off, he saved me >$100 by writing me up for 50 - thank you very much.
A radar detector wouldn't have helped much, I was the only car on the road, and the use the instant-on variety.
I was listening to Stevie Ray's blues collection - quite fitting after my wallet was suddenly $65 lighter.
Hopefully the insurance man won't be checking up on my driving record too soon.

Always go to court!
Always go to court on every ticket you get. My lawyer friend said that this is the only chance you can get out of tickets. You might get an a$$hole judge that will find you guilty and not even minimize the fine. But most of the time you can get your points reduced, fines reduced or get PBJ (Probation Before Judgement).
