Got my car detailed and heading to a car show when...............
My piece of sh1t motha fvckin tranny took a ****! I was doing about 40 and it went out of gear and reved up to about 5500 rpms went back into gear and chirped the tires and did this constantly all the way home. Luckily I was only about a mile away from home. So I guess at this point all I can say is, "LEMON LAW" I'm deffenitly contacting a lawyer tomorrow.

ummm .... I hate to have to be the one to tell you this but "Lemon Law" only applies to an issue which has been brought in for repair a few times without resolve. You're going to have to drop your car off for two weeks (there is a waiting list) and pray that they at least give you an Acura loaner and not a Toyota Corolla!! SORRY MAN!!! Is your a 2003??? I know your name is 03TLTYPES but yI figured I'd ask anyway.

How many miles did you have on your '03 03TLTypeS???
I bought my car about the same time as you (March) so I am starting to wonder if they were BSing about fixing this tranny problem. I do a lot of freeway driving and after reading Copland's story, I do get kind of paranoid!!

Just got off the phone with a lawyer and she says we deffenitly have a case. She's filing the case and sending a "Last Chance" letter to Acura now. I told her I would settle for a replacement, I do love the car. I just hope if I do get a replacement I have better luck with it! 5 people in my office have this car and not one of them has had the probs I'm having.

For those of you worried about the 2003 TL-S supposedly the tranny fix was not implemented until around June or July of 2002. Check this link for more info
oblio98 is considered a reliable source, so I would assume he's correct.
Here is a quote from oblio98 on the situation:
As for 03TLTYPES I hope everything gets resolved for you. Hopefully it will work out and you'll end up with a new TL-S.
Personally, I'm at 3500 miles and I'm crossing my fingers hoping my tranny will go strong for many more miles to come as I've come to expect from Acura.

Here is a quote from oblio98 on the situation:
What I was told was this: In the TL(-P), the PCM keeps the tranny from shifting "agressively" from 1st to 2nd when the tranny is cold. For "performance" purposes, the PCM does NOT have this restriction programmed in for the TL-S. They found that this caused the majority of the TL-S tranny failures.
This has only to do with TL-S tranny failures. All other TL/Accord tranny failures are not related to this, and are just random tranny failures that any particular car brand may experience.
That is why we seem to have such a high (in my opinion) number of TL-S tranny failures.

Geez, I guess mine will be going again too. I guess I will have to call a lawyer also. See it this 2nd replacement goes. It's starting to shift hard in 2nd gear. I have 39,800.00. So it looks like the tranny will fail way before the usual 15-20,000 mile mark.

My '02 CL-S has a build date of 10/02 & the tranny crapped out at 8k
So your car is about 8 months too soon... The fix was for the 2003 TL-S too, not the 2002s.

cnatra,
... I had to read your message a few times because it was so early in the morning when I read it. If oblio98 is correct, then the 2nd tranny you got in June should be fixed. The LA Times report also confirms that Honda has fixed the tranny problem. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping my '03 TL-S which was built in July will not experience any problems. I guess at the very least if you need a 3rd tranny, then it would have the fix in it. Hopefully it won't have to come to that though!!
