headers will give you almost 40 more bhp. but it doesnt sound like you'll be able to beat him in 3rd even will them

those little things can be made fast. A friend of mine knows this girl that has the new 230 kompressor sedan. She has pulleys, remus, and an intake. That thing is a pig off the line but once it's moving, there is no stopping it.

3rd gear is the TL-S's best gear.....doesnt make sense that you can hang in second and then get beat in third.....

You should have been able to take him IMO.....

it's slow to start with but the potential of force induction is much greater than what people think they are. With a supercharger, the easiest way to get power is to change the pulley so you can get more boost.

and I doubt headers will give you 40bhp...

I think there's something wrong with your car. My 3rd gear, along with most people's, pulls harder than other gears. Even when I'm at 2-3,000 in 3rd and gun it, it still pulls pretty good.

Your car is sick...If I got beat in third gear by a new c-coupe, I might sell my car...When you say red line, I hope you aren't conservatively shift at 6k rpm or something. You'd lose most of your power if you did. They truly are pretty slow, and that pulley shouldn't make up for the differences to be expected.
Second and third gear on a TL-S is where ALL the power truly is...It's hard for most cars to hang around here...Just find a G35...You might find yourself losing from a dead stop but starting from about 50mph, you should hang around with it to 110 or 115 without a problem...Try it. Your redline isn't gonna hurt you. You'll see. I'm rambling...

Not only that, but you can't see the back of the TL to see that it's actually towing a houseboat.

Actually - I might have to give some credit here - maybe....

The 2001 C230K (supercharged) model puts out 195hp and is rated by C&D for 15.7 in the 1/4 @ 90 mph. Not too good at all.

If this guy bumped the HP up to 235 by some "light" modding, he might give a stock TLS a good run. Let's not forget, the car does still weighs 3400 lbs - about the same as a TLS.

The only fair fight would be to spend the same amount of money on modding the TLS . If that's done - game over.....

Thank goodness most people don't mod their C's. The two times I raced one it wasn't even close.

That TL-S was not even trying... Let me drive it and ensure a different outcome...

Nice videos, looks like the road might have been a little wet, huh?

Well, then I certainly don't buy it. Those dumba$$e$ over there are posting dyno's of 205hp/165tq and claiming to be running WRX's and keeping up with STi's on a regular basis. They even think a stock Type-S runs a TL-S...Bozos...
Just 'cuz your car handles better doesn't mean it takes all comers...

Meh, it looks real to me. They also have a vid of an AUTO chipped Jetta running the TLS. The Jetta loses. The C "coupes" may have less power modded, but they weigh alot less too.

they make a C320 Coupe now you know...

215hp V6 for that little car...

0-60 on the mercedes website is 6.8 sec.. so if they have some mods.. it won't be too hard to beat a TLS

I've driven a C230 Komp and was not impressed. Very slow. IMO, there's no way a lightly modified one would beat a TL Type S.

Wow, I am lost. A C-coupe is not that swift. A TL-S should own it. Unless he got some serious BRABUS mods or so...

serioulsy guys, I dunno what ur smokin? if the TLS does beat a C320, its not going to be by much. Especially if the C320 is even slightly modded, which he is sayin it was, there is a high chance its goin to keep up with us, and once it gets past about 60, it will pull on us like crazy. I have a 2002TLS and my bro has a C320 and a SLK320, both of them are damn quick. The SLK beats me by about 1/2 a car by 60 and then once we get in higher speeds, he just kills me. On the other hand, the C320 keeps up with my TLS, a little behind my car, but not by much. Maybe a foot at most by the time we hit 60. Then once again, it starts to kill the gap and passes me. Benz's are NOT slow. Our car is fast and all, but it doesn't "KILL" everything on the road. It "beats" most of them, but not by a lot.

Ummm... nice post and all, but I think we are talking about the C230 K. Correct me if I am wrong.

He got a pulley, which make his supercharger run at a higher psi...
