Comptech exhaust. Check out "exhaust" at the top of the screen.

2nd the motion!

Although you'll get just the opposite, slightly louder at low RPM, a "muted" mustang GT sound at higher RPM's. Sound is really nice, even for me (I'm extreamly picky.) Order from Tim (on this web site.) You won't regret it!

Thumbs up

Comptech exhaust all the way!

And Snook of www.autocarparts.com has the cheapest prices in the country for all Comptech. Had GREAT experience buying all my Comptech stuff from him!

Are you talking about Axle back or the whole exhaust.

My .02 is like with everyone else is get the comptech axle back and then get the headers as well. I think the headers give 20+whp after VTEC is engaged

I agree with these guys... CompTech exhaust all of the way!! I love it so far, and I haven't done any other mods yet!!

BTW, if you go with the headers, they've been dynoed at 32 HP at the wheels, so the header / exhaust combo is a sweet way to go!!

Oh yeah, and buy everything from Tim!! www.autocarparts.com

Still on the fence about the axle back, and the associated increase in noise/droning that has been reported.

Definitely go with the headers, if you are close to anyone else who has done the axle back, get a test drive with them.

Mufflers are the only Comptech pieces that I'm not impressed with. To me they look a little too "Pep Boys" and they're dyno proven to add very little power, so the dollar/hp ratio is pretty bad as well. I've also read several stories on this and the -cl board about them not hanging evenly, sticking out too far, etc. They do sound pretty good (IMO), however, so if that's what you're looking for then by all means...

Is there any exhaust manufacture that makes an exhaust that doesn't drone. In other words I want an exhaust that sounds stock, however when the tach gets to 5000 rpm's I want the exhaust to sound deep and throaty but with no resonation.

I really don't know where everyone is coming up with "drone" as the Comptech's don't do this. I rarely drive in D5, as my daily commute to work includes about 20 miles (round trip) of freeway action. I use D4. At 75 mph, your still way under 3k rpm, the car has more "punch", and the exhaust sounds really sweet!

Drone, as they put it, is not an issue. Think "muscle car sound"

Some of those that have installed them have talked about drone, cabin noise, on long trips it gets annoying, gives them a headache...

All comments from prior posts, its the level of cabin noise/resonance that I and others am concerned with.

I had headers and flowmaster exhaust (no cats) on my pony, I all too familiar with resonance...

Thanks,

They are Advanti Racing Ikon's, I stayed with 17", they had the highest offset I could find at +52.

I dropped the tire size to 45 series, wanted a chance to clip the tab on the inner fender before risking any rubbing.
