good deal or wasting my time
i am looking at a 2000 TLP, its black on black with 72K miles on it. The dealer wants $15,000 for it, hes a friend of mine and thats as low as he can go. Interior and Exterior is in mint condition, windows are tinted (whoo hoo) but everything else is stock. Is it worth it, or should i keep looking for a better deal. Just lookin for the best opinios and IMO this is the best place to get it..

If I were you, I would go look for a TL Type S w/ 75K miles. Could probably pay a similar price since higher milege on a newer car hurts resale even worse. Ebay has a few good deals out there, I'd go check it out.
Personally, I would NEVER pay 15K for the TL you describe.

i bought my 03 TL-S with 71K miles 5 months ago, with factory bodykit for 14, 500. I sold my 01 TL with nav, 88K miles for 11,500, thats the price that you should be looking to pay.

that means yours will be EXACTLY like mine.. mine was a 99TLP with 65,000 miles on it. so its a year older but alot less mileage. perfect condition inside and out, no problems or anything. got it for (with taxes and EVERYTHING) for alittle under $12k. so unless you can bring it down to 12k, its not worth it!

one other quick question, if you were in my position, i have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee that i will prob get a minimum of 10K for it, would you look for a TLS or a TLP. i am obviously going to mod either, but is it worth it to spend the extra money on the TLS, or save the money and get a TLP.

Purchased my pearl white/tan 2000 TL March of last year--36k miles and just had the Acura certification pre-delivery inspection--new tires and brakes all the way around, tranny service, oil change, air filter, etc. the 30k svc...and I paid $17125 out the door. You can find a better deal--granted I paid quite a bit, but the car only had 36k and it had a $1600 R.O. worth of maintenance from the shop.

I would stay away from this product. I had tranny issues galore. Once the original tranny was replaced with a new ECU. It had been detuned so it would not fry the tranny. I got rid of my car after the 3rd tranny with 83,000 miles. I felt that it was unreliable and that acura execs should be (er well you know). Even the newer models have driveline vibrations and rattles. Sure good performance at a 34K price. But not worth the hassles.
If you buy a car with 72,000 on it I am not sure how long this car was made to go. From the sound of it, you will encounter incredible maintenance costs to keep the car running long enough just to get the original purchase value back in terms of use.
