Good Bye

Well, as of this afternoon, I will no longer have my TL Type S and I wanted to thank the members of this board for providing some great tips and experiences over the past 27 months.

My experience with my TL-S was mostly positive, but, in the end, the phantom rattles and squeaks were driving me crazy. At 39K (trouble free) miles, I decided if I was gong to get something else, now was the time.

After spending quite a bit of time researching, I purchased a new 2003 Lexus GS300 sports edition.

Again, thanks and enjoy the summer!

Good luck with the gs. I hope you weren't looking for speed in the gs300. I don't know your $$$ situation but a gs400/430 would of been really nice.

I'm leaving the brand too. My MDX is being traded in for a Volvo V70R next week and the TL-S is being traded for a European convertible in September when its lease is up. Both cars have been good, not great. I thought I was getting a BMW equivalent at a value price - my bad. Kind of like buying designer imitation perfume or cologne - similar, but not quite the original.

Thanks & Still Hangin' Around

Well, thanks for the notes and the congrats! I'll still be trolling the board. Yes, I traded my TL-S. Got almost 20K which really is about 21K when you factor in the 5% savings in sales tax. I have no doubt they'll make 1 or 2 K on the car retail. I have always taken care of it and with the mods, it really stood out. Someomne will get a very good, fast and reliable car ( albeit the phantom noises ).

Oracion, yes, you'll still see me around, but this time driving the GS300, Sports Edition, Black on Black.

If anyone is interested, I have one TL-S original rim w/tire in excellent condition. Take care and safe driving!
