Good aftermarket alarms?
I have an 03 Acura TL. What are the top 3 alarms that I can get installed in it? I just want to know 3 so that I can explore the top options.
I'm sure that others will find this very handy as well.
Thanks =)

You can install it yourself. I reccommend www.ultrastarters.com, go to products then 2 way paging alarms with remote start. Look for the 1 mile radius one, it is one of the best, easy to install and very very excellent range!

This is the newer version of what I had, you can find them on ebay for around $120: http://www.ultrastarters.com/4265.html

A $20 alarm can be better than a $1,000 alarm depending on who installs it, and how it's installed. Many alarms are installed in the same old spot and takes 1 mintute to bypass. A shitty alarm hidden well would do a better job.
Find the alarm with the features you want, then have someone that knows what they are doing install it. Alarms are all about the installation.
I USE TO OWN AN ACURA INTEGRA GSR. So I know all about theft and break ins. lol I had the Viper 791xv and had a close friend who does custom alarm installs put it in for me. Took him all day to do it. Hiding the brain is key. Location of the motion sensors, and sensitivity takes time as well.

Yeah, if they want it they will get it. Layering is the best way to keep your car. But nothing is unstealable. Luckily for our cars the biggest thing is the headlights. They don't usually go for the whole car.
A good alarm with shock/motion sensors up front with a backup batter and a distinct siren sound should be good eneough to keep your headlights. They will move on to an easier target.

What alarm has the hood/trunk sensor? By that I mean if your hood or trunk (or doors) are popped open, your alarm will go off. I looked on Compustar's site and couldn't find one that had it.
Anyone know a good place to buy/get an alarm installed around the San Jose area?
