Post Good aftermarket alarms?

I have an 03 Acura TL. What are the top 3 alarms that I can get installed in it? I just want to know 3 so that I can explore the top options.

I'm sure that others will find this very handy as well.

Thanks =)

You can install it yourself. I reccommend www.ultrastarters.com, go to products then 2 way paging alarms with remote start. Look for the 1 mile radius one, it is one of the best, easy to install and very very excellent range!

Sure. In fact the range is so good, that when I was in school it would actually page me in class when it was going off, I had to keep it on vibrate so it wouldnt attract everyones attention.
This is the newer version of what I had, you can find them on ebay for around $120: http://www.ultrastarters.com/4265.html
Also here: http://www.ultrastarters.com/Feature...ture_Sheet.pdf

Viper IMO sucks, my sister has the 5000, almost no range, 300' and you loose range.

From my own personal experience, I hate the pagers, especially with a proximity sensor . My vote goes to LOW JACK, or at least a LOW JACK *STICKER*

A $20 alarm can be better than a $1,000 alarm depending on who installs it, and how it's installed. Many alarms are installed in the same old spot and takes 1 mintute to bypass. A shitty alarm hidden well would do a better job.

Find the alarm with the features you want, then have someone that knows what they are doing install it. Alarms are all about the installation.

I USE TO OWN AN ACURA INTEGRA GSR. So I know all about theft and break ins. lol I had the Viper 791xv and had a close friend who does custom alarm installs put it in for me. Took him all day to do it. Hiding the brain is key. Location of the motion sensors, and sensitivity takes time as well.

I heard of those special classes, called viper pit or something. For a matter of fact it is very simple to install if you know what wires go where.

Starter kills, ignition kills, fuel pump shut-off's work very well too, they cant steal what they cant start (unless a flatbed is used).

Yeah, if they want it they will get it. Layering is the best way to keep your car. But nothing is unstealable. Luckily for our cars the biggest thing is the headlights. They don't usually go for the whole car.

A good alarm with shock/motion sensors up front with a backup batter and a distinct siren sound should be good eneough to keep your headlights. They will move on to an easier target.

What alarm has the hood/trunk sensor? By that I mean if your hood or trunk (or doors) are popped open, your alarm will go off. I looked on Compustar's site and couldn't find one that had it.

Anyone know a good place to buy/get an alarm installed around the San Jose area?

It was funny, when my alarm was installed on my 3000gt vr4 and I had a forsale sign in the front window, I watched some guy walk up to the car and just point on the windshield to his wife and it went off! I then was working in a drive-thru for fast food, I always could watch it. Funny stuff.
