Talking Goldplating

I am about to purchase a '96 TL in dark green and I think goldplating would look great on it. Does anyone have any advice on where to take the car to get it done? Are detail shops too risky? I can't imagine that dealers do it themselves. Also, what have you gold plated? I think the gold-green contrast would look great but I don't want to look like a drug dealer or pimp.

Thanks.

ehhhh, gold plating is OK. dont really like gold trim on cars. if anything, i prefer chrome. gold to me looks dull...dont ask me why, i just think it makes the car look dull. especially with a dark color car, i would have chrome so the emblems stand out just a tad bit from the green.

I usually don't like the goldplating but I think it looks good against green or maroon.

Thanks for the comments.
