Let us all know where you end up on hp and torque.

I am looking at headers and exhaust to go with my CAI. Would also love to know how tough it was to mount the VAFC in the sunglass holder.

Good luck.

Exclamation Bunch of Stuff!!!

Hey All! I'm set on getting that 99 3.2TL for now until I can afford a brand new one (just my excuse to the lady for waiting until we get married). Anyways...I have read a lot about all the different mods you can do to TLs. What I want to know is what are all the mods I can do to a 99 3.2TL that I will be able to take off and put on my 04/05 3.2TL when I get it? I want everything from fading footwell/interior lighting to fog lights to HID conversion and brighter high beams! Instuctions would be nice too, but I am really looking more for a list of them. Then I can search and find out to do them. Thanks for viewing and posting! Cheers All!

Sorry for being ignorant, but how does this compare to stock? Are you happy with the results?

Sorry guys I've been very busy and I havn't had time to post the results.

Alright so here we go. First off let me tell you about the dyno it self before I get into the numbers. The numbers will seem lower than a normal dyno jet because this dyno duplicates real road weight experienced by the engine during normal driving conditions. The drums don't free spin like on the dyno jets.

More info on the dyno:
http://www.dynocomp.com/tuner.php <-----click

So anyway with that in mind...the temp was warm for being in the middle of the winter...70F and being in AZ it of course was dry as a bone. First pull was arround 200whp. After dozens of pulls and many tweeks to the AFC we were able to gain a total of 10whp across the board. With a max of 210whp. The only thing now is that I really can't compare these dyno results with the dyno jet results of the others on this board. But thats not very important to me. I'll post the pics of the printouts soon.

The car runs much smoother than before and was well worth the money.

Off topic: The shop were I got the TL-s tuned had a BMW X5 getting a supercharger installed.:wow:

I did not do stock because I purchase all my AEM stuff the next day after I drove my car off the lot when I purchased it. All I have to go by is what AEM states the stock numbers for the TLS is:

whp 200.2@6000 rpm
wtq 186.4@3500 rpm

And considering AEM claims a 15hp gain (I was just expecting 10) I am not happy with the whp numbers but I am happy with the wtq numbers. The car does pull harder I contribute this to the increase in torque.

How much did dyno comp charge you? You said it was worth it, and I assume it was, but only if the cost was reasonable.

no way a cai with bypass will give u 15hp.. at most 5hp... and the pulleys add about 1-2hp..

I would have thought better numbers as well...

I do't know the exact difference in the dynos to know about correction facotrs, etc, but it still sounds odd...The gains by the vafc appear accurate, though. importcult had his done as well and had the same type of across the board gains...

Once scalbert/modaddict from a-cl.com get their harness together I will be testing the emanage system on my car. There will be a before/after dyno for all to see as well as getting the straight skinny on the emanage set-up...

Like I said before the numbers are LOWER than a regular dyno jet because of the load bearing drums. I spoke with the tuner and he said that the numbers will run about 10whp higher for my car on a dyno jet(no load on the drums). So in reality the number are in the same ballpark. Having the real road weight experienced on the dyno I used allows proper tuning...NO GUESS WORK.
