Get rid of TL?

I have gotta get rid of this car. But not for the reasons you guys first will think of. I just recently was caught speeding doing about 110 on route 309, which is right outside of Philly. I was somehow able to wiggle my way out of getting my licence suspended and got the speed knocked down to 25 over and my fine reduced from this rude judge who was threatning to not take the deal at first. You'd think I would have learned my lesson right.
Wrong! Coming home today there was this blue millenia tailgating me and it got me a little mad and long story short we ended up racing down 309 and of course I smoked him topping out at about 110 again. I guess what I am trying to say is that this is by far the most powerful car I have ever owned, previous cars 91' sunbird and 98' avenger. I have always like to race but knowing I can beat so many cars that I never could before, I can't help my self. I'm afraid this car is gonna get my a$$ thrown in jail. Sorry about the long post, but I guess I am just so dissappointed in my self that I had to vent. Any of you guys feel the same way?

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I routinely found myself cruising 90+ mph when the road was open. Only last Friday I was pulled over for speeding (77 in a 55 zone) but I was let off with a warning. I've definitely become a lot more speed conscious and keep my speed down. Don't let it be a reason for you to consider getting rid of the car though. Enjoy it and use the power/speed sparingly and judiciously!

Even the TL-P BEGS to be driven hard. I drive it like I stole it, routinely cruising over 80 mph on an empty freeway. I can pass most cars as if they're standing still. I don't race, though, that can lead to bad things.

I love this car.

Being probably the oldest member on this list (52) - "Been there - done that". Only I never got it out of my system. Here's how I learned to deal with my "need for speed":

I participate in auto-x and track "drivers education" programs. Check out SCCA or the other car clubs and you will find that many have events open to other marques. I run an old Porsche with the Golden Gate Region of the Porsche Club of America. I also participate with other groups as an instructor.

Doing this, I find that I am a bit calmer on the public roads and leave the street racing to others. Well, most of the time, anyway.

The TL makes alot of power at the top end, and I also find myself flooring the gas pedal just to feel the rush of speed. By the way BigNard, you do have a radar dectector don't you? Yeah the TL is alot of fun when your blowing by at 80 mph in light traffic and such, this car is alot more fun than my dads 740iL BMW. I'm not selling my TL any time soon.

I know how every one feels I drive a hyundai xg 350 and my wife drives the tl-s every day because i put plenty of miles on cars. But when I get my hands on the tl I can't control myself. Every block becomes a test track for me. God help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NO tickets yet!

you gotta be careful though. I'm guilty of high speeds too and have gotten my fair share of tickets! Sucks and I'm trying but its hard not pushing a car. I prefer driving with some traffic because that keeps me from doing dumb sh!t but when the road is open is when I get my a$s in trouble!
