generic HID lights

i see alot on ebay for like $12-$50

im sorry, id hate to do it, but i just got the car and i cant afford brand name parts.

you think they are just as good but dont last long? i mean if they are the same kelvin temp. then they are gonna have the same output. (brightness)

Those are just regular bulbs, not the ballast that our cars need. Why, is your ballast gone and no HID?

yeah dude, 99% of the "HID" lights on ebay are just regular light bulbs with a blue coating. they'll say "like HID", "HID effect" or something along those lines. go online and check out what a real HID bulb looks like so you'll have a good idea when you see the pictures in the auctions.

but how about their kevin temperature rating. its the same as tho of like $200 dollar ones.

hmm wait a minute. my 01 tl doesnt have HID lights stock. i cant just buy some HID lights can i? do i need a converter or something that will cost me more?

If they are not True HID they wont work. Stick with true HID

HID light bulbs are different than normal halogens. You cant plug in halogen "hid like" bulbs in.

All TL's have HID lights

haha. wow i didnt know my TL had HID lights. thats great . haha im so happy

anyone have a clue what the specs on the stock HID's are. i cant even tell they are HID.

Yep- your bulbs are probly faded and need replacement. I got a set of 6500k's and they are a nice crisp purple/white color (a la the last gen s class HID's)

Yea man. Your new to the board and to your car im guessing so before you go around sayin all this shit that ur TL doesnt come with HID's and the FAKE ASS WANA BE HIDs are the same thing, KNOW YOUR SHIT FIRST BEFORE YOU SAY ALL THAT. You don't know nuthin right now from what all of us expierienced members can see. Relax, im not tryin to degrade you or talk bad to you, im just saying in general.
